26 watches strike a pose
These twenty-six mechanical marvels line up in front of photographer Laziz Hamani’s camera. Their undeniable star quality shines through in the resulting images, shown here.
Throughout the years, HH Mag has confirmed its appeal. A print publication from the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH), it opens its pages to thoughts and ideas, while showing a marked sensitivity for tangible objects, studied layouts, and an out-of-the-box approach to the measurement of time. “Paper is the technology with which we have made sense of the world,” writes Franco Cologni in his editorial, quoting the British literary critic Ian Sansom. The President of the FHH Cultural Council then asks us, “If we were to abandon paper, what would we really stand to lose? Memory, creativity, projects, identity… Paper has made history.”
A different form of history is brought to us by photographer Laziz Hamani in HH Mag 2016. He takes us on a paper journey into 26 different worlds, each corresponding to one of the Foundation’s partner-brands. As if by magic, his lens brings to life 26 timepieces, all resplendent with elegance, talent and creativity. Now HH Journal presents a digital version of this portfolio. A reminder that paper and digital, smartwatches and masterpieces of mechanical watchmaking can live together in perfect complementarity.
